WHO WE ARE
Loki’s Lodge is a registered not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the welfare of animals. Our particular focus is on finding homes for rural animals that are surrendered due to changed life circumstances. Increasingly people are moving off the land, back to smaller properties, towns and retirement villages and this means their special animals must find new homes. We take them in, assess them and find new homes with loving owners who will continue their care.
We are located on an 80 acre property one and a half hours north of Melbourne. We use Loki’s Lodge to educate the public on the plight of farmed animals. There is a societal disconnect between the abolition of animal cruelty on the one hand and the preparedness to ignore the plight of factory farmed animals we use as a food source on the other. We believe that providing experiential education raises the awareness of animal suffering and cruelty within the animal agricultural industry. Knowledge is the power to change the way our society views the welfare of farmed animals.
We are a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) entity. This means any donations are tax deductible in Australia.
Rescuing animals is unpredictable at best, since receiving DGR statues we have been inundated with calls to rescue farmed animals including pigs, horses, ponies and dairy cows. All donations are used to support the animals in our care.
